Megan Van Horn
MEGAN VAN HORN began her early dance training in Orange County, California at Ballet Conservatory of Saddleback Valley under the direction of Maryann Bayless. She spent her summers studying at The School of American Ballet, where she was selected to take part in the New York Choreographic Institute showcase, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Miami City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and Ballet Austin. When Megan was 15, she moved to New York City to train in the year round program at the Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet. In 2012 she was accepted into the Professional Division program at Pacific Northwest Ballet and chose to continue her training under the direction of Peter Boal. During the two years she spent at PNB she received the opportunity to dance with the professional company in Giselle, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, and George Balanchine’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. In the fall of 2014 she joined Nevada Ballet Theatre as a trainee under the direction of James Canfield, where she danced in The Nutcracker, Giselle, and George Balanchine’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This is Megan’s first season with Avant Chamber Ballet.
