Born and raised in Dallas, TX Emma has returned to her hometown where she began her dance training and has studied various styles including ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop and contemporary. She spent the last year in New York City where she worked at Steps on Broadway, The School at Steps as a Dance Teacher’s Assistant. While there she furthered her training by working with some of the city’s best including Lisa Harvie, Matt Williams, Martha Chapman and Inga Gerson to name a few. While living in New York she worked with professional filmmaker Brian Pelletier’s company CODECdance, Todd Terje and the Olsen’s at Terminal 5 and performed in various small venues and clubs.
Emma received her BFA in Dance Performance at The University of Central Oklahoma. While studying, she was a member of the Kaleidoscope Dance Company for 3 years, performed annually at the American College Dance Festival and also had her own choreography adjudicated at the festival her senior year. While living in OKC Emma taught at dance studios throughout the area in various styles and ages and performed and choreographed with the professional company RACE Dance Company working with more international artists.
Prior to earning her degree, she studied under Tiffanee Arnold at Collin College in Dallas and was a member of the Collin Dance Ensemble. Emma received her early training from Texas Ballet Theatre, under the direction of Lyndette Bader Galen.
Emma is excited to further her experience as an instructor, choreographer and performer in the Dallas area.
